  • 1 Tbspsalt
  • 1packet active dry yeast, or about 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 1/2 cupwarm water, about 110°F (43°C)
  • 1 Tbspsugar, to help activate the yeast
  • 4 Tbspextra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • Sea salt for sprinkling, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional), such as rosemary or thyme
  • Toppings (optional), such as olives or cherry tomatoes

Directions

  1. Step 1: Activate the Yeast

    In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a rough dough forms.
