Chicken Parmesan Sliders
These Chicken Parmesan Sliders are a deliciously satisfying twist on a classic Italian dish, featuring juicy chicken, tangy marinara, and melty cheese nestled in soft slider buns.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into cutlets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, for breading
- 2 whole eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs, Italian seasoned preferred
- 0.5 cup marinara sauce, plus extra for serving
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 0.25 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 6 slider buns, fresh or toasted
- 0.25 cup fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Begin by seasoning the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper on both sides.
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and fry each breaded cutlet until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
Remove the cutlets and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
On each slider bun, spread a tablespoon of marinara sauce, place a chicken cutlet, and top with mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of parmesan.
Place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, and serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side.
