Ingredients
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 large egg yolks, room temperature
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 tsp salt
- powdered sugar for dusting, optional
- for serving, optional
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust with flour.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and unsalted butter. Melt in 20-30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until frothy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture gently. Be careful not to deflate the eggs too much.
Sift together the all-purpose flour and salt into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Leave a little space at the top for rising.
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes. The edges should be firm while the center is still soft.
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Run a knife around the edges to loosen before inverting onto plates.
Serve immediately while warm, dusting with powdered sugar if desired. Pair with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries for a delightful dessert.
